While Fonseka was taken back after the Court of Appeal dismissed the case, Prison officers covered his face with their caps and screamed by saying “get away, go this way” etc., preventing the media from recording what Fonseka uttered.

When Fonseka was taken to the van to be taken back to prison, the prison officers deployed a ploy to prevent his comments which he normally makes to be recorded by various media personnel.
At the time when he was escorted to the van the prison officers removed their caps and covered Fonseka’s face and his utterings to be heard they were screaming “ get away, go this way” loudly. Owing to these voices what Fonseka uttered was not heard clearly.
While alighting into the van Fonseka said “do not care for the screaming of fools, it is a shame for the uniform. It was like a herd of cattle”.
